Solana Rowe (born November 8, 1989), better known by her stage name SZA, is an American singer-songwriter from Maplewood, New Jersey. In October 2012 and October 2013 Rowe self-released two extended plays entitled See.SZA.Run (2012) and S (2013). It was revealed in July 2013, that she had signed to the independent record label Top Dawg Entertainment through which she released her debut EP Z on April 8, 2014.
On “Low,” SZA literally lowers her voice and “keep it quiet,” while Travis Scott provides some ad-libs, which is fitting given the dark instrumental sound of the track that fits Scott’s style.
“Low” debuted at #17 on the Billboard Hot 100 during the chart week ending of December 24, 2022. “Low” was certified gold by the RIAA on February 6, 2023.
